We’ve recently opened the newest member of the ASK Italian family in Leeds, and we couldn’t be more excited to be bringing a little Italian escapism to the city centre, just in time for winter!
And in true Italian style, we couldn’t open without a proper celebration. So, we joined forces with fellow joy makers, Aperol Spritz to host an evening of Italian cocktails and a family style spread of our tasty Italian food.
We invited our friend Em Sheldon, and some other lovely Leeds ladies to come and soak up Italian summer vibes for the evening in our restaurant which is inspired by Spello, a town in Italy known for its annual flower festival, so as a nod to the region ASK Italian Leeds features an indoor, hand crafted flower wall - it's an Instagram dream! And the rest of the restaurant is pretty beautiful too (if we do say so ourselves) with a hand painted mural, and a pergola dressed with greenery and our signature disco balls for added sparkle.
On hand was Alessandro from Aperol Spritz who treated us to an immersive session, kicking off with the chance to each make the perfect Aperol Spritz! We then sat down to eat, family style, and whilst sipping on Spritz’s nibbled on the treats like our Spinach & Ricotta Arancini and Garlic Bread Speciali with Balsamic Onions.
To follow on from the Aperol Spritz we then had a taster of a Campari Gin & Tonic, Negroni Sbagliato and the iconic ultimate Italian cocktail, a Negroni! Alessandro walked us through the ingredients for each on, and the Italian traditions behind them.
Sarah, Leeds’s general manager put on a spread of some of our favourite dishes like our Prima Pizza Light range, our signature Purple Basil Pesto Genovese and Vegan Spaghetti Lentil Ragu which got the seal of approval from our vegan friends.
And because there’s always room for dessert, the evening came to an end with a sweet spread; our Baked Chocolate Gnocchi has a twist on a classic Italian dish and our famous Chocolate Etna where hot toffee sauce is poured over a dark chocolate dome, revealing a scoop of gelato on a hot chocolate fondant.
Think the evening sounded like fun? We'd love to host more events like this, so if you're interested in joining us drop us a line on Instagram and we'll let you know if there's anything coming up in your area.
