If you’re looking for a good Italian restaurant in Edinburgh city centre, you’re sure of a truly great experience at ASK Italian. From the excellent service provided by our team to the classic and modern Italian dishes prepared by our chefs, we’ve created a little taste of Italy just off Princes Street.

We’re just a short walk from Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and the Esplanade, the National War Museum and the Traverse theatre, and we’re open all day. So whether it’s a coffee, bread and nibbles to break up the sightseeing, a hearty lunch pre-shopping or a full five-course Italian meal with family and friends, we’d love to see you at ASK Italian.

Pickering’s gin

Fresh, light and bold flavours of citrus and juniper give way to intense warming spice of cardamom, coriander seed and clove. Hand-crafted in small batches, the distillery sits in the heart of Edinburgh, within the former University Veterinary School.

Our Italian menu is inspired by trips to Italy and created in collaboration with expert friend, Theo Randall. You’ll find lots of choice including our antipasto sharing boards, long pizzas, fresh pasta and desserts, as well as a fun and tasty kids menu. We’ve got vegetarian, vegan and non-gluten options and plenty to toast the mealtime with cocktails, beer or a bottle of wine.

We’ve got a vegan mozzarella alternative for your favourite pizzas and non-gluten pizza and pasta options so there’s no risk of missing out.
